I have been active as a mentor since 2013. and have enjoyed being part of supportive systems for Croatian start-ups every step of the way. I did my best to support their businesses and have learned a lot about new technologies. It became an important part of my professional and private life and I really look forward to each new team I mentor.
As a founder, you need to be a “jack of all trades”, but sometimes it simply makes sense to ask for help on specific challenges and topics. As a mentor, I believe my role is to contribute with perspectives and insights that can help founders to structure, prioritize, and focus their thoughts and activities. The BIRD approach enables a customized support network for the individual startup, rather than a standard “one size fits all” program.
I was excited to join BIRD’s mentor group because they are filling an important gap in the region by providing an eco-system for AI-based startups. Equally important is that the team at BIRD has created a welcoming atmosphere of collaboration and feeling of “belonging” that that provides crucial (emotional) support for anyone entering the turbulent waters of entrepreneurship.
